Students at the Technical University of Eindhoven have developed a solar-powered car that may indicate one road into the future of the automobile. Here too, conventional exterior mirrors have been replaced with Kappa cameras.
Using the digital display mirror, the high air resistance of conventional exterior mirrors has been obviated. The 22-member development team states its range at over 1000 kilometers (621 miles). In so doing, Stella Lux far exceeds the longest range electric car on the market, the Tesla S, which only goes half as far on fully charged batteries — about 450 kilometers (280 miles).
