Kappa is developing the highly robust next-generation IRIS Airborne Flight Test camera for Curtiss-Wright Avionics & Electronics to combine seamlessly with its Acra KAM-500 flight testing product line.
The complete system will then simplify integration for the customer. Data compression takes place inside the camera, making separate compression cards or special processing units redundant. For Kappa’s Managing Director Hubertus Dornieden, this partnership in product development is a logical step: "Many of our customers in the aerospace industry already work with Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) and Acra KAM-500 data recorders from Curtiss-Wright. For their needs, we can jointly offer an off-the-shelf camera that is optimized for this flight testing environment.” The IRIS Airborne Camera will be available exclusively through Curtiss-Wright by the third quarter of 2014. The collaboration between Kappa and Curtiss-Wright will provide their joint customers with clear added value.
