Innovation Award: Kappa donates the prize money

New Fraunhofer Application Center for Plasma and Photonic IST-APP in Göttingen

The Fraunhofer application center APP has been launched in order to establish a strong partner for applied research in the area of plasma and laser technologies, a key topic for scientific-technical progress. 

APP“ is a cooperation of the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST (Braunschweig/ Germany) and the University of Applied Sciences HAWK, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology in Göttingen. Kappa has a long-standing cooperation in the area of research and developement with the HAWK.


„We are happy to support the APP“, says Jürgen Haese, Kappa CEO. „Knowledge transfer between industry and science is an essential driver of innovation.“


Kappa had been awarded the Innovation Award 2012 of the County Göttingen for the digital rearview mirror in the VW XL1 (currently displayed at the Geneva Motor Show).
