ADMOSS: Intelligent Vision Systems for Tomorrow's Aviation
German Aviation Research Program (LuFo 6.3)
ADMOSS is a research project focused on the development of a modular optronic vision system for helicopters, eVTOLs, and future autonomous aircraft. The project aims to support pilots and automated flight functions through advanced environmental perception capabilities in daytime, nighttime, and challenging weather conditions.
At the core of the development is a flexible camera platform that combines visible-spectrum imaging and thermal imaging within a compact system. Intelligent image processing and modern embedded technologies enable the efficient provision of relevant environmental information, forming the basis for future assistance and automation functions.
The research activities focus on energy-efficient sensor systems, innovative image processing methods, and the development of a reusable platform architecture for a wide range of aerospace applications. This approach helps reduce weight, power consumption, and integration effort for future sensor systems.
The developed technologies are validated step by step, from laboratory demonstrators to flight demonstrators, and subsequently tested under real operating conditions. The project contributes to the next generation of safe, efficient, and sustainable aircraft.
