Switchgear Monitoring Camera SGC NG Digital
Digital camera for switchgear – full‑HD streaming directly into your monitoring solution
The next‑generation digital switchgear camera, SGC NG, provides a reliable and efficient solution for the visual monitoring of switching positions in medium‑, high‑, and extra‑high‑voltage installations. With its robust design, full‑HD live streaming, and IP67 protection rating, it is ideally suited for indoor and outdoor use in GIS, hybrid switchgear, generators, and GCBs.
Thanks to easy integration into the Kappa monitoring software, all camera images can be viewed centrally and conveniently, whether for permanent installations or flexible plug‑and‑play applications. The SGC NG ensures maximum transparency and supports technicians in verifying switching states.

Centralized camera monitoring via the monitoring software
Example configuration with an 8‑port PoE switch, AC/DC power supplies, and a panel PC with a laptop in the control room
Our system enables complete visual monitoring of switching positions. Multiple cameras are installed directly at the viewports of the GIS units and provide full‑HD live images via a robust GigE network. The cameras are powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) and connected to GigE switches housed in protected distribution cabinets.
At each GIS unit, a panel PC with installed monitoring software allows direct access to the camera images of the respective unit. In addition, images from other GIS units within the network can also be viewed. This gives technicians a clear overview of all relevant switching positions at all times, enabling fast and efficient operation.
The system also supports centralized access from the control room. All GIS units can be monitored via the monitoring software, ensuring convenient and secure supervision of the entire installation. The software supports the assignment of individual roles and access rights, ensuring that each user has exactly the functions and information required for their tasks, ranging from view‑only access to extended control options.

Main screen with single-line diagram and configuration buttons
-
Flexible display options
Choose between a three‑phase view for a complete overview or a single‑phase view for detailed monitoring of individual switching states. -
Single-line diagram
The integrated single-line diagram displays the entire substation structure at a glance and simplifies navigation between the individual GIS units. -
Individual customization
Name phases, areas, and devices according to customer requirements to adapt the software precisely to your installation. -
Reference images for switching positions
Reference images can be stored for each contact position (e.g. “Open Switch”, “Closed Switch”, “Closed Ground Switch”), allowing quick and reliable comparison with live camera images. -
Frozen image indicator
The software detects frozen images and displays a frozen image indicator both within the application and directly in the camera image, ensuring maximum operational safety.
